The Establishment and Activities
of The Kuwait Women's Voluntary Association for Community
Service
The volunteer popular committees
had been established abroad following the occupation of the
State of Kuwait by the brutal Iraqi forces during the past Iraqi
regime. They were driven by the national and self-motivation
that embodied the love of Kuwaiti soil and nation, the
insistence to liberate the Kuwaiti land and to return to their
homeland. Through this assertion, Her Excellency the wife of the
Crown Prince Sheikha Latifa AI-Fahd AI-Salem AI-Sabah, sees the
necessity to combine all the committees that have been
established abroad during the occupation period in one structure
that embody this stage. Because there were some committees that
have been established in the homeland during the same period,
all the committees were unified after liberation under one
title:
"The Kuwait Women's Voluntary
Association for Community Service"
under the chaimlanship of Her
Excellency the wife of the Crown Prince Sheikha Latifa Al-Fahd
AI-Salem Al-Sabah, pursuant to the Ministerial Resolution No:
056 of 1991, dated 18/8/ 1991 .The society is run by a Board of
Directors composed of 13 female members to be selected by the
General Assembly. The Board selects from its members the
Chaimlan, the Deputy Chairman, the Secretary, the Cashier and
members. Each one has her own responsibilities and powers in
accordance with the Articles of Association of the Society. |
